James David Wilson, (JD) of Flint age 78 passed away April 3, 2014 at Fergusons Nursing Home in Lapeer. Cremation has taken place, burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI Friday, April 25 at 2:30 pm. JD was born in New Madrid, MO, July 15, 1935, the only child to Minnie Chamberlain and Jim Wilson. He was joined in marriage to Joanne Blankenship of Kewanee, MO on a weekend pass from the Naval service January 16, 1956. They spent over 44 crazy years together before her passing on July 3, 2000. JD proudly served in the United States Navy before beginning a career working for General Motors, retiring in 1994 after serving 30 years. He was always young at heart, he loved to have fun. JD knew how important it was to have wonderful childhood memories. He made sure his 2 kids; LouAnn and Jimmy Joe, had a great fun filled childhood riding dirt bikes, skateboarding, fishing and having neighborhood cookouts & bonfires in the field. His kids were his life. When visiting, he made sure you felt at home, offering food, drink & laughter. Goodluck in Heaven, You have your hands full with him. JD is survived by his children Jennifer LouAnn (Eric) Marland, Jimmy Joe (Rochelle) Wilson, grandkids Dusty, Annie, Alyssa, Blake, Logan and Carlie |
