KINNEY, Doyle Francis - Age 84, of Flint, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, June 17, 2016 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 3:00PM-8:00PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 10AM until time of service Friday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to charity of ones choice. Doyle was born in Flint, the son of the late Earl J. and Emma E. (Gean) Kinney. Mr. Kinney married Nancy Lawson on November 13th, 1954 in Flint. Doyle loved his family, watching Detroit Tigers Baseball and serving his Lord. He was an active member of cornerstone Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Kinney retired from G.M. Chevrolet plant with 30 years of service retiring in 1979. Surviving are: wife Nancy Kinney of Flint; sons, Ronald (Vicki) Kinney of Lennon, Steve (Tracey) Kinney of Lapeer; grandchildren, Stacey (Jamie) Willyerd of Swartz Creek, Steven (Katherine) Kinney of Swartz Creek, Mark Kinney of VA, Thomas (Madison) Kinney of VA, Matthew Kinney of Swartz Creek, step-grandchildren, Brittney Denver of Lapeer, Bailey Lazar of Lapeer; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Marvin Kinney of Flint Twp., Leo (Beverly) Kinney of Swartz Creek; aunts Joyce and Vicky; uncle, Richard (Shirley) Gean of Burton. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Doyle was also preceded in death by his sister Esther Grimmett.
