Gerald Schmiege
Age 93 of Owosso passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at The Meadows.
Funeral Services will be held 11am Monday March 19, 2018 at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor James Bare officiating. Burial will follow Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Sunday, March 18 from 12noon until 4pm.
Gerald was born September 16, 1924 in Chesaning, the son of William and Wanda (Krause) Schmiege.
He graduated from Chesaning High School. Gerald attended Salem Lutheran Church.
Gerald married Doris Cook on August 16, 1947 at Salem Lutheran Church; she predeceased him on October 11, 1997.
He worked at Universal Electric for 35 years, retiring in November of 1985.
Gerald is survived by his sons, Dennis (Jean) Schmiege and David (Pnina) Schmiege; grandchildren, Kim (Anthony) Rood, Lisa (Joe) Chapko, Jeff (Amy) Schmiege and Sharon (Thomas) Edgar; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, his parents, eight brothers and one sister.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Salem Lutheran Church.
