CRAIN, Stanley “Stan” Don – of Flint, MI, age 63, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, September 16, 2019 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6901 North Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48505; Pastor Randy Schultz officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 2-8 PM Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Monday, September 16, 2019 at Our Savior Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
Stan was born in Lapeer, MI on October 5, 1955, son of the late Henry and Kathryn (Wiley) Crain. He married Ellen Mary Roof on June 20, 1987. Stan was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He worked at A-Frame Awards for 25 years. Stan was an avid race car and hockey enthusiast. He also enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing. Throughout his life, Stan was active in the church, Boy Scout Troop #110 and FIRST® Robotics Team 314 “Big MO”.
Stan is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Ellen (Roof) Crain; 3 children, Nathaniel Crain, Nickolas (Robin) Crain and Kelsey (fiancé, Mike Mosier) Christensen; 2 grandchildren, Raegan Crain and Jottie Crain; 2 sisters, Sally Pence and Sandy Crain; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben and Bert Roof; 2 brothers-in-law, Jon Roof and Chuck Evans; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Kathryn Crain and sister, Suzanne Evans.
The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of the SICU at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw and all of the first responders who assisted at Birch Run Speedway for their compassionate and professional care of Stan.
