DORR, Viva K. – Of Flint, age 99, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Edward MacDonald officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to Oakwood Restoration Branch of Jesus Christ Church or Genesys Hospice.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Viva was born in Levering, Michigan on July 5, 1914, the daughter of Alvin and Maude Athearn.
She married Howard Dorr on April 20, 1935.
She was a member of the Oakwood Restoration Branch of Jesus Christ Church.
Surviving are her twin daughters, Rosa Duvernois and Mary Fry;
5 grandchildren, Candy MacDonald, Randy Fry, Kathy Poisson, Howard Fry and Richard Duvernois,
9 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in 2005; sons-in- law, Leslie Duvernois in 1998 and Kenneth Fry in 2005.
