TYLUS, Michael “Mike” of Montrose, age 54, died at home on Saturday, March 8, 2019. A memorial gathering will be from 12-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Rossell Funeral Home.
Mike was born on October 12, 1964 in Flint, Michigan to Chester and Virginia (Shustock) Tylus. He graduated from Flushing High School in 1982 and was a career machinist for TRW. Mike was a sports fanatic of hockey, football, baseball, and enjoyed playing golf. He had an incredible sense of humor and made up nicknames for all his friends and relatives. Mike really enjoyed being up north and boating, playing cards, and singing karaoke with his wife. He loved going to concerts and sporting events with his son, Ian, and spending time with his daughter Sarah and the girls. Mike’s greatest joy was being a dad and a grandpa.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Melissa; children, Ian and Sarah Tylus; grandchildren, Jasmin Lynn Balanowski and Jayla LuElla Anne Rose Harris; siblings, Nancy Earl, Rochelle (David) Curnow, Bonnie (Don) Gilman, and Mark (christa) Tylus; nieces and nephews, Branden Tylus, Erin (Brian), Alyx (Christine) Earl, Evan Gilman, Mikayla Gilman, and Olivia Hughes; brother-in-law, Chris Hughes; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Virginia; brother, Patrick Tylus; and parents-in-law, John and Phyllis Hughes.
