BOWER, Beverly J. – of Clio, age 76, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday, November 2, 2019 Bethany United Methodist Church – 353 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev Cathi Huvaere officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Friday from 3PM until 8PM and at the church on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
Beverly was born June 16, 1943 in Flint, Michigan to the late Joseph and Florence (Ackley) Abbruzzese. She graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1962. Beverly married David Bower on January 11, 1964 at Court St. Methodist Church in Flint. She worked for Clio Area Schools in the cafeteria, and was known for being one of the “cookie ladies”. Beverly also worked for A&P Grocery in Clio and was an election precinct worker for Vienna Township. She was a very active member with Bethany United Methodist Church and loved volunteering. Beverly enjoyed traveling, watching soap operas, and trips to the casino. Above all, she loved her family and was the glue that held them all together. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Husband of 55 years, David Bower; Son, Daren (Ellen) Bower; Daughter, Carolyn Bower; Grandsons: Matthew (Jessica) Hemingway, and Eli Bower; Great grandchildren: Evan Borkowski, Cody Borkowski, and Mila Hemingway; Several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends.
