BROWN, Ray Clarence – of Montrose, age 89, died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Brian’s House in Essexville, Michigan. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until time of service at 1:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Memorial contributions can be made to Brian’s House at 644 West Nubobish Street, Essexville, Michigan 48732.
Ray was born September 3, 1929 in New Lothrop, Michigan to the late Clarence and Mildred (Schultz) Brown. He grew up in Montrose, Michigan and graduated from Montrose High School with the class of 1948. On September 3, 1949 he married Florene Morse in Montrose, Michigan. Ray worked for Quality Door and Lumber for 28 years and then retired from Montrose Fire Corporation with 30 years of service. He was life member of the Genesee County Fireman’s Association and the Montrose Eagles Aerie # 4090. Ray enjoyed woodworking, hunting, camping, and western movies. He also liked to go for coffee at the Depot Coffee Shop to socialize with the local community. However, spending time with his family was the greatest joy in his life.
Surviving are: Wife , Florene; Children, Linda (Donald) Vantine, Richard (Diane) Brown, Louann (Steven) Rinks, Robert (Debra) Brown, Ronald (Kellie) Brown, Rita (Raymond) Griffin, Janet (Brian) Kleinfeld; 10 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Roy (Virginia) Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
