BUSH, Geraldine Rose Danks, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, passed away December 14 at North Woods Nursing Home in Farwell, Michigan at age 86.
Gerry was born in Pigeon, Michigan on June 7, 1931, the daughter of Charles A. Danks and Priscilla Wildfong. She graduated from Bay City Central High School. Gerry worked at General Motors and at a floral shop. She married Leland James Bush on June 27, 1959. The couple lived in the Swartz Creek/Durand area, later retiring to Clare County and spending winters in Zephyrhills, Florida.
The couple enjoyed traveling, especially to Tennessee and Branson, Missouri. They were members of the Church of the Nazarene in Clare, Michigan for over 20 years. Gerry most enjoyed spending time with family and loved to laugh.
Survivors include: children, Brenda White and Dan (Patti) Bush; daughter-in-law Dana Swantek; grandchildren, Chad Swantek, Shauna Swantek (Jodi Borowicz), Troy Swantek, Shane Swantek (Kali Henry), and Carrisa White (Jeff Novak); and great-granddaughter Rebecca Swantek. Her family celebrates her life and that she no longer suffers from Alzheimer’s disease but instead is reunited with those who preceded her in death including her husband, her parents, five sisters and three brothers, and her sons David (Chris) Swantek and Dennis Swantek.
A memorial service honoring both Leland and Geraldine Bush will be held 4PM, Tuesday, December 26 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Michigan. The family will receive guests from 1PM Tuesday until time of service at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Young will give the eulogy at 4 PM. Interment of the couple at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan will follow at a later date. Online condolences may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
