Faye M. Aurand, age 77 of Owosso, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at McLaren Greater Lansing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Pastor Calvin Long will be officiating with burial to follow in Fremont Cemetery, Bancroft. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and again on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Faye was born March 14, 1937 in Pontiac to the late Harold and Marie (Luchenbill) Baker. She attended Corunna High School, graduating in 1955 and married her high school sweet heart, Dale Aurand at the Corunna United Methodist Church that same year on December 10th. She and Dale would raise 3 children together. Faye taught Bible School at the church for a number of years and later became a member of the Owosso First United Methodist Church where she had been involved in various roles.
Faye enjoyed scrapbooking, shopping and traveling. She enjoyed her annual trips to Florida with Dale and trips up north with family. She loved her time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Aurand is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dale; 3 children: Debbie (Michael) Taylor of Lansing, Gregory D. (Nicole) Aurand of New York and Linda Duguay of DeWitt; 6 grandchildren: Amanda and Elizabeth Taylor, Andrea and Alyssa Duguay, Emily and Christian Aurand; 2 sisters: Sharon (David) Leatherman of Owosso, Judy (Jeff) Wills of Lennon; brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald Gooding, Kent and Joyce Aurand, James and Annella Aurand and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Devona Gooding and her great granddaughter, Samantha Taylor.
