NEWCOMB, Manuel “Dwight” - Of Flint, age 78, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Brad Lake officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Westside Bible Baptist Church. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 11-3 and 5-8 p.m. Friday and 12 noon Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Manuel was born in Flint, Michigan on September 24, 1933. On March 21, 1953 he married Sharon Richardson and they shared 59 years of marriage. He loved his family and spending time with them.He was a member of Westside Bible Baptist Church. Mr. Newcomb worked for 7-Up for 35 years of service and also retired from McDonald Dairy. Surviving are wife, Sharon; children, Corinne and husband Cecil Boyle, Charlene and husband Paul Benmark, Manual Dwight Jr. and wife Dianne, Colleen OCallaghan and Butch Stearns, Matthew S. and wife Lisa and Mitchel D.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; one brother; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
