OSMUN, Frederick Forrest – of Clio, age 88, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Cranberry Park in Clio, Michigan. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Cathi Huvaere officiating. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 1-4PM & 5-8 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan and also at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, Clio VFW Post # 1452, or the American Legion Post # 158.
Frederick was born September 3, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Charles and Iva (Gould) Osmun. He grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and attended Mott Community College where he received his Diploma and a Associates Degree in Electrical. Frederick served his country in the US Army in Korea from 1949 to 1951. On April 12, 1952 he married Doris L. Severn in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 1981 he worked for GM as an Electrician for 30 years at plant 5. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, VFW Post #1452, American Legion Post #158, and the Disabled American Veterans. Frederick also marched in honor of his comrades when they passed at the Clio Veterans Memorial Park on main street. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and camping. Frederick liked to play cards with his family. He also liked to play chess and checkers with his son at the Flint Chess Club. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Cardinal Hospice and Cranberry Park for their wonderful care.
Surviving are: Wife of 67 years, Doris; Children, John (Deborah) Osmun, Cathy (Michael) Persons; Grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Osmun, William (Lindsey) Osmun, Jennifer (Jesse) Gerould; Great Grandchildren, Samuel Osmun, Evelyn Osmun, Carly Osmun, Lauren Osmun, Sidney (Jack) Delaney, Riley Gerould, Grayson Gerould, Hazen Gerould; Brother, Charles Osmun.
