SCHARRER, Genevieve “Jenny” Esther Ferguson (Kilpatrick)– of Howell, MI, age 67, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019 in her home surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 212 Center Street, Otisville, MI 48463; Rev. Fr. Steve Makranyi celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at church. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed 5:30 PM on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Kidney Foundation.
Jenny was born in Flint, MI on July 13, 1952, daughter of the late Kenneth and Rosemarie (Quaderer) Ferguson. She lived in Davison until 1979, when she moved to Flushing. Jenny ran a daycare for 25 years and taught an exercise class for 25 years with Flushing Community Education. Jenny married Steve Scharrer in Flushing, MI on December 23, 2006. She was a long time member of St. Roberts Catholic Church in Flushing. After moving to Howell in 2006, she joined St. Joseph Catholic Church and worked for Advanced Medical Solutions for 12 years. She was dedicated to children, teaching and her community. Jenny cherished her time with family and friends- especially her grandkids. She enjoyed gardening, cross-country skiing, traveling and being active.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Steve Scharrer; three children, Kristian (Nicole) Kilpatrick, Kourtney (Sean) O’Reilly and Kenneth Kilpatrick; two step-daughters, Nicole (Luke) Fifer and Elizabeth Scharrer; nine grandchildren, Kristian, Morgan, Genevieve and Graham Kilpatrick, Delaney, McKinley and Landrey O’Reilly, Josie and Rex Fifer; 11 brothers and sisters, MaryLou (Charles) McCarter, Charles (Linda) Ferguson, Kenneth (Wayne Ellis) Ferguson, Ann Ferguson, Thomas (Joanne) Ferguson, Sally Whitney, Richard (Susie) Ferguson, James (Tammy) Ferguson, Nancy (Phil) Kus, Kathryn Ashworth and Lynne (Ken) Travis; close family friends, Kathy Schupp and Kim (Randy) Veenhuis. She had many close relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Rosemarie Ferguson; two sisters, Rosemarie and Theresa; brothers-in-law, Arthur “Bud” Whitney and Don Ashworth.
