McGARVAH, Dr. Earle James - Of Grand Blanc, age 75, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Bethany Baptist Church, 2353 East Grand Blanc Road, Grand Blanc,
Pastor Chris Tenneriello officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Flint Crisis Pregnancy Services.
Visitation 4-8 pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Dr. McGarvah will be at the church 10 am Thursday until the time of the service.
Earle was born in Detroit on July 19, 1937, the son of the late Arthur and Ruth McGarvah. He was a resident of the Flint area for over 40 years. Dr. McGarvah was an OB/GYN for over 30 years in the Flint area, retiring in 1999. He was a founding member of the Flint Crisis Pregnancy Services and also served on the board. He was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church and loved serving his Lord.
Surviving are children, Sandy and husband Barry Smades, Carol McGarvah, Scott McGarvah, Linda and husband Aaron Sturgill, Kristy McGarvah;
4 grandchildren, Molly, Spencer, Ryan, Dakota;
many nieces and nephews;
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and sisters Ruth Jominy and Rosina Brunsink.
