GUTZEIT, Mark Steven – of Otisville, MI, age 75, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 11, 2024 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 450 Wilson Road, Otisville, MI 48463; Rev. E. Enwood Nevis officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 2-7 PM Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Thursday, July 11, 2024 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
Mark was born in Detroit, MI on July 28, 1948, son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Stricker) Gutzeit. He was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1966. On September 20, 1969, Mark married the love of his life, Susan White, with whom he shared over 54 years of unwavering love and companionship. He was a dedicated member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and cherished his affiliation with the Mio Moose Lodge #1035. Mark retired from General Motors after 37 years of exemplary service as a tool and die maker and plastic injection mold maker. He will forever be cherished for his quick wit and sarcastic humor, which never failed to bring smiles to those around him. His love for golf was evident in every swing, and he found joy in the strategic game of pool and the thrill of hunting. In his youth, he embraced the courts with enthusiasm, playing tennis with skill and determination. Above all else, Mark will be remembered for the precious times he shared with his beloved children and grandchildren. His presence enriched their lives with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Susan Gutzeit; 4 children, Mark (Jodi) Gutzeit Jr., Matthew (Melina) Gutzeit, Benny (Cheryl) Gutzeit and Tammy (John) Martin; 4 grandchildren, Brendon (Jordan) Gutzeit, Allison Gutzeit, Jacee Sword and Stella Gutzeit; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Kenneth (Kathy) Gutzeit and Kirk (Robin) Gutzeit; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Gutzeit and brother, Douglas Gutzeit.
