KERR, Mary Ann - age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at McLaren-Flint. She was born in July of 1937 and lived in Flint and Swartz Creek all of her life. She started her career at Chevrolet (in the hole) as a young woman and moved on to GM SPO in Swartz Creek as it opened, working her way through departments rising all the way. While there, she volunteered and oversaw the Red Cross Blood Drives and the United Way Campaigns for many years. Always eager to help someone, she mentored many young workers along the way and was able to inspire confidence to succeed in their endeavors. She enjoyed her retirement traveling with her amazing book club friends to Paris and London. And once even traveled with them to see a talking horse in Ohio. She enjoyed it all. Euchre and Pinochle. Garage sales and flea markets. Gardening and yard work. An avid sports fan very devoted to MSU Spartans, the Tigers and the Pistons. A memorial to be held at a future date in the new year. Mary Ann is survived by her sister Joan (and brother in law) Chuck of Swartz Creek and her son Paul (and son in law) David of San Francisco. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
