DONAJKOWSKI, Theresa R. “Terri” – a long-time resident of Davison, age 89, passed peacefully on February 25, 2019, under the care of Hospice in Howell, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, March 2, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM on Friday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Saturday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison.
Theresa was born on April 3, 1929 in Posen, MI, the 10th of 12 children of John and Anna Pokorski. Theresa graduated from St. Casimir Catholic High School in Posen, MI. She married Louis Donajkowski on October 15, 1949 at St. Casimir Church. Theresa resided in Davison from 1950 to 2018. She was an active member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church as Eucharistic Minister and Lector beginning in 1973. Theresa held many other positions at St. John’s, including, bereavement meal coordinator, Pastoral Council President, Altar Society President, Vice-President, Secretary, Worship Commissioner and Chair of Art and Environment. She was also active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Theresa was employed by Regal Funeral Homes as a secretary, by Engravers Point as a manager and she retired after 15 years as a Legal Assistant.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Louis; daughter, Monica (Joe) Urban; 2 sons, Ken (Mimi) Donajkowski and Roland (Louanna) Donajkowski; son-in-law, Doug Hawker. Theresa will also be fondly remembered by her 17 grandchildren and her 17 great-grandchildren. Theresa was preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Hawker and 9 brothers and sisters.
