Vlasta V. Loynes, age 87, of Flint, MI and formerly of Owosso passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Heartland Fostrian Nursing & Rehab Center, Flushing, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 10, 2012 from 12-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Vlasta was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 30, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Dvorak) Wondal. Vlasta resided most of her life in Flint moving there in 1957 after being born and raised in Owosso and was a 1943 graduate of Owosso High School. She married Ennes Loynes on November 17, 1950. He passed away on January 28, 1982.
Vlasta loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing, traveling, playing cards & Bingo. Vlasta volunteered her time at Genesee Memorial Hospital and Carman/Ainsworth Senior Center. She had been employed by Firestone, Bill Mitchner Auctioneer and served on the Election Board for the City of Flint. Vlasta was a board member of the ZCBJ Hall in Owosso and the Patient Advocate Board at Heartland Fostrian.
She is survived by her son Larry and wife Tammy Loynes of Flint, MI, granddaughter Jennifer Loynes of Grand Blanc, MI, grandson Brett Loynes of Flint, MI, and many nieces & nephews. Vlasta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Frances Kotcher, Lucille Carpenter and brothers; Arnold & Edward Wondal.
