BENNETTS, John “Jack” Charles – age 83 of Grand Blanc, MI passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 at Genesee Care Center in Grand Blanc, MI. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 6PM-8PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11AM with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Brown Funeral Home – 1480 E. Hill Rd. Grand Blanc, MI. Rev. Tommy McDoniel officiating. Burial will take place at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Jack was born on May 18, 1933 in Flint, MI to the late Joseph C. and Nora (Staple) Bennetts. He was a former resident of Flint and of Grand Blanc for the past 45 years. He was a graduate of Flint Central in 1952. John served his country in the United States Army from 1953-1955 in Korea. He was a graduate of G.M.I. (Kettering) Tool and Die apprenticeship. Jack worked at Buick Motor Division Factory #29 and retired from his supervisor position after more than 30 years of employment. He married Lois Hand on February 11, 1956 and recently celebrated the 60th year of marriage this past February. Jack was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for over 70 years. He was active in U.M.M., served as an usher, and treasurer at the church. Jack enjoyed bowling, golfing, tennis, latch hook, word searches, and walking at the mall. He was proud of his hole-in-ones and 300 game in bowling. He was also a Michigan football and Detroit Tigers fan. Jack is survived by his wife, Lois Bennetts; children, Richard C. Bennetts, Donald (Betsy) Bennetts, Donna (David) Millhouse, Beth A. Bennetts; grandchildren, Amanda Millhouse and Daniel Millhouse; sister-in-law, Mary Russell, and several nieces and nephews.
