Richard Louis Cuttitta, 57, of Columbiaville, formerly of Lapeer, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Richard was born January 1, 1957 in Grosse Pointe, MI to parents Louis and Martha (West) Cuttitta.
Richard graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1974. He married Bonnie Austin on July 25, 1987 at the Columbiaville United Methodist Church. Richard retired from Delphi (formerly AC Spark Plug) in 2008 after 30 years of service. Since his retirement, Richard has worked for Powers Catholic High School and has absolutely adored his time there. Richard loved working on things (ie tinkering), camping, snowmobiling and the outdoors.
Richard is survived by his wife, Bonnie Cuttitta of Columbiaville; mother, Martha Cuttitta of Lapeer; children: Courtney (Derek) Childers of Davison, Devin (fiancé, Megan Skidmore) Cuttitta of Columbiaville and Stevie Marie Cuttitta of Columbiaville; three grandchildren: Dylan, Preston & Donovan; siblings: Joel (Sharon) Cuttitta of Flint, Margo (Dan Berry) Cuttitta of Colorado, Marie (Daryl) Lechner of Chesaning, Gary (Janice) Cuttitta of Standish, Chris Cuttitta of Colorado and Joan (Todd) Anderson of Colorado; brother-in-laws: Scott and Brad Austin, both of Columbiaville; mother-in-law: Betty Austin of Columbiaville. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Louis Cuttitta, father-in-law, Clinton Austin and his nephew, Brennen Cuttitta.
Visitation will be held 4-8PM Thursday October 10, 2013 and 1-4/6-8PM Friday October 11, 2013 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rosary will be prayed 7PM Friday at Muir’s. His funeral Mass will be held 11:00AM Saturday October 12, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Columbiaville.
