PARKER, Patricia Ann – of Genesee Twp., age 80, passed away peacefully at home and skated off to Heaven on March 8, 2018. Cremation has taken place and Pat has requested that the family have a private celebration of her life at a later time. Donations may be made St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Reverence Hospice.
Pat was born in Flint, MI on May 15, 1937 to parents Thressa (Tuller) McGraw and Bernard McGraw. In her younger days, Pat loved to figure skate and was known to be very good at it. She also loved working at Mott Children’s Health Center where she came in early every single day throughout her 29 years of service. Her heart was touched by the many children she encountered there. Pat was always a good neighbor, especially in her retirement community, helping others whenever she could. Pat enjoyed her front porch conversations with her neighbor, Merle, affectionately known as “Mr. Man.” She delighted in doing special things with and for her grandchildren and she never, ever let a birthday go by without sending a card. On her 77th birthday, Pat went for a ride with one of her sons on a Harley Davidson motorcycle with her arms in the air and adventure in her heart. Her family and neighborhood friends will miss her conversation, quick wit and hearty laughter. Shortly before her passing, Pat mentioned to family that she would soon be “skating off to heaven.” She spent her last days surrounded by her loving family.
Pat is survived by her sister, Barbara Cunningham of Swartz Creek; children, Julie Behling of Bradenton, FL, Scott (Kathleen) Morris of Davison, Jennifer (Steve) Standfest of Hartland, Jill Urbina of Swartz Creek and Russell (Sharon) Parker of Westland; grandchildren, Anthony, Ryan, Jason, Bethany, Michael, Eric, Christian, Troy and Tressa; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hailey, Savannah, Drew and Lux; niece, LeeAnn (Greg) Murtland of Farmington Hills; great-nephews, Court, Austin and Andrew Murtland. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and stepfather, Russell Davis. The family would like to say a special thank you to Reverence Hospice for their compassionate care.
