DUNN, Michael I. – of Davison, MI, age 64, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Thursday, August 24, 2017, 11 AM-8 PM Friday, August 25, 2017 and 12-1 PM Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or to the family, in Mike’s memory.
Mike was born in Grand Rapids, MI on March 8, 1953, son of the late Charles and Ida (Fuller) Dunn. The Knight had finally found his Lady when he married Terrie (LaFave) Elzerman on September 12, 1981. Mike retired from General Motors Metal Fabrication on July 1, 2017 after 40 years of service. He was an avid Sprint and Stock car racing fan. Mike also loved making homemade ice cream for his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather who was the rock who held the family together. Mike was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Terrie; 3 children, Maria (John Williams) Dunn, Antony “T.J.” (Teresa) Elzerman and Kimberly (Adam) Kann; 4 grandchildren, Cole and Brynn Elzerman, Julianna McCulley, Jayden Smith; 2 sisters, Vickie (Brian) Dahl and Debbie Ochs; brother-in-law, Brian Bailey and life-long friend “brother”, Richard (Chris) Johnston; several nieces, nephews, many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Bailey.
