Richard Anthony Miculka, 67, of Owosso, passed away Monday, August 10th, 2014 at Ovid Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM Wednesday, August 13th, 2014 at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 Goodhue St, Owosso, with Rev. Alice Lewis, Celebrant. A memorial luncheon will immediately follow the funeral mass at the Owosso Eagles Club, 308 N. Washington Street. Friends are invited to call on the family at Mowen Funeral Home - William A. Scarlett Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from 2 PM to 8 PM and in the Osborn Room at Christ Episcopal Church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM .
Richard was born in Owosso, Michigan on May 27, 1947, the son of the late Anthony and Helen (Remenec) Miculka. Richard graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School - Class of 1965. He married Barbara J. Kalisek at St. Joseph Catholic Church on June 22, 1968. He was a 30+ years veteran of General Motors - Buick City where he worked assembly and repair. He was also alternate committeeman for UAW Local #599. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Shiawassee Conservation Club and the Owosso Eagles Club. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, running his cars on the drag strip, and restoring and driving classic cars.
Those who cherish his memory include: wife, Barbara of Owosso; children, Tracy M. Butcher and fiance Jay Keltner of Owosso; Jason A. and Carrie Miculka of Corunna, Stephanie S. and Joshua Speers of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Rylie Butcher, Carter Miculka, Adyson Miculka, Emma Speers and Owen Speers; special niece, Tammy Bukovick; and other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Ava Grace Miculka.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Special Olympics or the Eagles Auxiliary Diabetes Fund.
