TAYLOR, Barbara A. – Of Grand Blanc, age 74, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating.
Visitation 1 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Barbara was born in Washington County, Mississippi, on March 23, 1940, daughter of Jettie and Annie Humes.
She married Jethro Carter, Sr. in March of 1958. She then married Love Taylor in 1977 and he preceded her in death in 1992.
She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and it’s Nurses’ Guild.
Mrs. Taylor loved to cook and was an avid gardener. She retired from AC Spark Plug in 1999, after 31 years of service, and was a member of UAW Local #651.
Surviving are three children, Felicia Faye Carter of Grand Blanc, Jethro, Jr. and wife Xantheia of Grand Blanc, Terri and husband William Anderson of Bellville;
three grandchildren, Christopher, Brittni, and William III;
three sisters, Delois Dawkins, Dorothy and husband Harold Hicks, Marjorie Joyce and husband Carl Davis;
special nephew, Richard Marrow-Bey;
many nieces and nephews;
daughter-friend, Jeannie and husband James Wells;
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty and brother, Jerry.
