Getz, Ralph C. Sr. - Age 86, of Fenton, died June 6, 2019. A Celebration of Life service will be held on 11 AM Saturday July 20 at Fenton First Presbyterian Church, 503 S. Leroy St. Fenton with Reverend David Eshleman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton.
Ralph was born August 26, 1932 at home in Utica, Michigan the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Fuchs) Getz. He was a graduate of Utica High School. Ralph married Joanne Nowicki on May , 22, 1954; she preceded him in death January 26, 2019. He was a Wood Model Maker and retired from the GM Tech Center with 30 years of service. He was a Mason and Shriner. He was a past Worshipful Master of the Harper Woods Lodge, and current Member of the Linden Lodge. For many years he worked with the Elephants for the Shrine Circus. He was an avid Hunter and was proud to have hunted for 60 years. He and his wife enjoyed playing Bridge. Ralph was a man of deep faith. He loved people and "never met a stranger."
Surviving are: son Skip and husband Tom Getz-Walsh of Fenton; daughter Kathy and husband Mike Rompfh of Eastpointe; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and brothers Stanley Getz and Harry Nixon.
