JANICE S. LYON, formerly of Otisville, age 95, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at her residence. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 2PM at the Otisville United Methodist Church, Rev. Kay Leitelt officiating. Burial in Smith Hill Cemetery, Otisville, MI. The family will receive friends at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Otisville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lyon was born in Kenton, Tennessee, March 31, 1921, the daughter of Newt and Hattie (Tull) Smith. She was married to her husband, Laurence T. Lyon for 53 years. She was a member of the Otisville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Forest Township Seniors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence; sister, Madeline; and brother, Gene. Surviving are her children: Ron (Charlene) Lyon, Judy (Chuck) Clark, and Richard (Trudi) Lyon; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family wishes to thank her pastor and friends for their continued support over the years; to her doctors and Home Care/Hospice staff for their outstanding care and friendship; to each of her incredible caregivers who always went above and beyond to provide the best quality of life possible each day; to her beautician for all her home visits, and to her very special friends that kept her supplied in books, treats, and flowers. |
