DeCOU, Sidney W.- Of Lapeer, age 84, died Monday December 26, 2011.
Sid was born on March 9, 1927, the son of the late Helen and Fred DeCou. He married Barbara Honert on August 13, 1949. Sid was a teacher, coach and athletic director in the Davison and Lapeer Schools for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1946.
Surviving are sons, Sidney J. (Sheryl), Michael R. and
David H. (Barby); grandchildren, Meredith, Napper, Zachary, Kaley and Allison DeCou; two sisters, Edith West and Marjorie Foster.
Sid was preceded in death by his wife, on October 31, 2011 and sister, Ada York. Friends are invited to gather with the family on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Family Memorial Service will be held in the spring of 2012.
