RATHS, Christopher Daniel – of Davison, MI, age 27, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Hurley Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 706 Beach Street, Flint, MI 48502. Rev. Fr. Paul J. Donnelly will be the celebrant. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, located at 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM at Allen Funeral Home. The family will also receive visitors on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Michigan-Flint, School of Nursing or to Hurley Medical Center, in memory of Christopher.
Chris was born in Royal Oak, MI on December 22, 1991, son of Daniel and Deborah (Thompson) Raths. He graduated from St. Thomas More Academy in Burton, MI with the class of 2010. Chris was a student of the University of Michigan-Flint School of Nursing with plans to specialize in Pediatric Medicine. He was to graduate in December 2019. He was an amateur movie critic, a master pun maker, and a video game connoisseur. He had a passion for helping the needy, and his loyalty, trustworthiness, and strength of character built the foundation of his deep heart. The memory of his goofy sense of humor, resounding laugh, and sweet smile will forever live in the hearts of his loved ones. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church in Flint, MI. He was engaged to the love of his life, Marisa Howe, and they were planning to be married on May 16, 2020.
Chris is survived by his parents, Daniel and Deborah Raths; his fiancé, Marisa Howe; his 6 siblings, Michelle (Craig) Dowling, Michael (Michelle) Raths, Jeffrey Raths, Theresa (Anthony) Dent, Joseph Raths, and Sarah Raths; his niece, Hailey Ruehlen; his nephew, Benjamin Ruehlen; Baby Raths, expected 2020; and many other loving family members and friends.
