RIDLEY, Lois M. - died peacefully at home on September 19, 2014. She was preceded by her loving husband of 69 years, Robert (Bob) K. Ridley September 19, 2013.
Lois, daughter of Glenn and Ethel (Tinker) Montague was born July 31, 1924 in Clio on the family farm. She was the seventh child of eight children. After graduating from Mt. Morris High School, she married her childhood sweetheart, October 8, 1943 and lived on the Montague farm.
Lois loved being a homemaker. She had the gift of hospitality in the home for friends, persons in need, ministers and musicians. Her home was joyfully filled with music! She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clio and loved serving in the nursery and library. She had a life-long passion as archivist and chronicler of both the Montague family and her church.
Lois is survived by her six children: Vivian (Dwight) Wymer, Dell (Kendra) Ridley, Ann Cascarelle, Daniel Ridley, Jeanette (Karl) Swords, and Stephen (Amy) Ridley. She has twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Bettie Godwin and Reatha Wilson.
The family will be available to visit with friends, Sunday, September 28, 1:00 to 3:00pm at First Baptist Church, 218 S. Mill St., Clio, Michigan. A memorial service will be held Sunday, 3:00pm, First Baptist Church of Clio, Rev. Dennis Lutz, Pastor.
