PEEK, James “Jimmy” - Of Flushing, age 57, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Father Roy Horning officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Jim was born in Flint on May 5, 1954, the son of Thomas and Mary Peek and was a resident of Flushing for many years. Jim married Christine Bradley on April 20, 1985 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Jim graduated from Flint Central, Class of 1972. He was a member of St. Roberts Catholic Church and Flushing Moose Lodge #1437. Jim was a Coach for the Greater Flint Hockey Association and Eastern Michigan Hockey Association and belonged to the Greater Flint Ice Hockey Referees Association. He enjoyed hockey, golfing and spending time with his family. Jim retired from General Motors Lake Orion Assembly in 2005 after 32 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #5960. He was currently employed by the Flushing Community School System.
Surviving are wife, Christine;
son, Andrew, “A.J.”;
brothers, Tim and wife Dee of Arizona, Bob and wife Jackie of Flint, Don and wife Debbie of Tennessee and Ron and wife Jenny of Swartz Creek;
sister, Sharmane and husband Mike Bice of Durand;
mother-in-law, Elizabeth and husband Don Meints of Flushing;
brothers-in-law, Bruce and wife Darla Bradley of Swartz Creek, Barry and wife Jackie Bradley of Flushing, Blaise and wife Sharon Bradley of Flint and Brian and wife Vicki Bradley of Tennessee;
sister-in-law, Jackie and husband Bob Peek of Flint;
several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary Peek.
