Guadalupe Banda, 72, of Owosso, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Mclaren-Flint. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 1 pm at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Guadalupe was born on December 30, 1945 in Brownsville, Texas to the late Juan and Andrea (Avalos) Banda. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Saginaw and entered the United States Marine Corps on February 10, 1966 and was honorably discharged on February 10, 1972. Guadalupe spent his working career driving semi and doing production work at Gray Iron in Saginaw, retiring after 35 years of service. On December 30, 1985 he married Eva Garza in Saginaw and together raised three children.
Mr. Banda is survived by his wife of 32 years; Eva, his children; Pascual Compian and Liza (Ryan) Craig. His grandchildren; Maurina (Dan), Amanda, Anthony (Keyona), Pascual, Alex (Ashley), Xavier, Marissa, Alyssa, Marcella, and Isaiah. His great-grandchildren; David, Aunaleah, Audrina-Lynn, Aubryonna, Aurinnah, and Amore. His nieces; Alicia (Barry) Banda-Hunt, Andrea G. Banda, Lisa M. Banda, and Michelle Banda, his nephew; John T. (Catherine) Banda, also, Mya A. Banda, Rafael T. (Angela) Banda, and Andres Banda.
Guadalupe was predeceased by his parents, his son, Adam Garza, his siblings; Juanito Banda, Juan T. Banda, Margarito (Mark) Banda and Mary Lou Banda.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Banda’s name are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
