CALL, Thomas Elwyn - Age 79, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, January 4, 2020. A memorial gathering will be held 4 PM Saturday February 29 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 3PM Saturday February 29 until time of service at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Swartz Creek United Methodist Church or McLaren Homecare and Hospice, 1515 Cal Dr. Davison, MI 48423.

Thomas was born June 14, 1940 in Flint, the son of Elwyn Lyle and Betty M. (Gorton) Call. He was a 1958 graduate of Swartz Creek High School where he played football and made 2nd Team All League in Class C; he then received a Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Mott Community College. He married Mary Anne Davey July 12, 1961 in Flint. Thomas had resided in the Swartz Creek area his entire life, and they enjoyed over 20 winters at Venture Out in Mesa, AZ making many friends and learning new hobbies. He retired in 1992 from General Motors after 30.4 years of service. He was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir and was the Chairman/Dean of the family camping program. He also was a member and past president of the Swartz Creek Jaycee's. He was a member of Boys Scout Troop #122 Boys and he was a scout leader for Troop #357. They treasured their up north cabin at Canada Creek Ranch for over 40 years, hunting, hiking, and entertaining family and friends. He loved and cared about his dog, Cubby. Thomas was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and caregiver.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Anne; 3 children, Brent Thomas Call of South Lyon, Bruce David Call of Swartz Creek, and Kristen Annette (Jeff) Owen of Flint; grandchildren, Derek (Amanda), Gretchen, Aaron, Layne, and Sylvia; great grandchildren, Ty and Breelynn; sister, Susan (Folke) Boman of Swartz Creek; sister-in-law, Beverly Edick of Flushing; nieces and nephews, Scott,( Terri), Mark, and Julie Ann.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Call. Tributes may be shared at
