ASHLEY, Don Marlon, age 85, of Burton, died Saturday, August 31, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM, Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Blessed Sacrament, 6340 Roberta St. Burton, MI. Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski will officiate. Entombment will take place at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Flint. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Tuesday, and 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Wednesday. Visitation will also be 10 AM until time of Mass at the church on Thursday. Those desiring my make contributions to St. John and Blessed Sacrament Parishes.
Don was born December 21, 1933 in Flint the son of Myron J. and Sarah Harriet (Eckler) Ashley. He married Mary Keskes on May 30, 1953 in Flint. Don retired from AC Spark Plug in 1991 with 39 years of service. He was a member of St. John and Blessed Sacrament Parishes. Don was an artist working with painting , drawing and cartoons.
Surviving are: wife of 66 years Mary; children, Julie Adams of Burton, Denice (Bob) Cole of Clio, Brian (Terry) Ashley of Burton; grandchildren, Stephen, Scott (Lisa), Ryan (Hollie), Melissa (Kevin), Anthony (Kristie); great-grandchildren, Luke, Anna, Drew, Haley, Lauren, Felicity and Ezra; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Wilma McCartney, Nila Johnson, Maxine Tosto, Jack Ashley, Marjorie Ashley, Barbara Chupp, Loree Fulkerson and Hugh Ashley.
