KOZUMPLIK, Vaclav James – lifelong resident of Lennon, Michigan, age 87, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry Street, Flushing, Michigan with Fr. Gordon Reigle officiating. Burial follows at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 2 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Road, Flushing, Michigan with the Rosary to be prayed at 5 p.m. Jim Kozumplik was born September 17, 1929 in Owosso, Michigan. He married Josephine E. Bohil on May 14, 1955. He was a retired Pipefitter from the Chevrolet Motor Division, Plant 2A. He also was a lifelong farmer which was his passion. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW Post 3720. He was in the Lennon Tractor Club and the Swartz Creek Friendship Club. Jim loved Czech polka music festivals and dances, and was proud of his Czech heritage. Favorite activities included spending time with his family and attending Blue Angel air shows and tractor shows, boating and time at the family cottage. He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church in Flushing. Mr. Kozumplik was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Carla Maughn, in 2012. Surviving are: wife, Josephine; sons, Brian (Rhonda) Kozumplik; and John (Laurie) Kozumplik; daughters, Lisa (Robert) Allen; and Janice (Bart) Baker, and special daughter Becky (Myron) Erexson; 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.
