GREEN, Viola J. – of Birch Run, age 88, died Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Covenant Health Care – Harrison of Saginaw. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Birch Run United Methodist Church 12265 Church Street - Birch Run. Rev. Rey Mondragon officiating. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Monday from 2-8PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family, to be forwarded to a charitable contribution.
Viola was born June 7, 1928 in Flint, Michigan to the late Edwin and Charlotte (Salisberry) Reid. She graduated Valedictorian from Kearsley High School in 1946. Viola married Ralph E. Green on July 20, 1949. He preceded her in death. She was a medical transcriptionist with Mid-Michigan Plastic Surgery for over 20 years. Viola was a lay leader and very involved member of Birch Run United Methodist Church. She enjoyed church activities and sewing.
Surviving are: Son, Kevin Green of Birch Run; Daughter, Kimberly (Ken) Jones of Birch Run; 5 grandchildren: Anthony Green, Amanda (Tom) Kinghorn, Paul Green, Kayla Jones and Alyssa Jones; 1 great grandson, Jase Kinghorn; Brother, Edwin (Nancy) Reid of Birch Run; Several nieces and nephews.
