Betty “Poopsie” Sowter, age 65, of Lapeer died November 6, 2019 at home.
Betty was born July 2, 1954 in Lapeer, Michigan to the late Bob and Herthyl [Maxwell] Lawrence. She married Terry Sowter, and was a bus driver for the Lapeer Intermediate School District for 30 years. Betty was an avid dart thrower that won the State Championship in 2006. She also enjoyed cooking, quilting, crafting, and gardening.
Betty is survived by her siblings: Robert Lawrence, Richard (Terry) Lawrence, Elaine (Ed) Lawrence, Larry Lawrence, many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and her cats: Missy & Chaps. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Brenda.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Betty’s life will he held at a later date.
Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be made to Paradise Pets in Lapeer.
