BODNAR, James J. - Of Fenton, age 65, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 4pm Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Jeff King officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Johns Athletic Department, Ashtabula, Ohio.
Visitation 1pm Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
James was born in Orlando, Florida on February 1, 1950, the son of the late Peter and Florence (Tyszkiewicz) Bodnar. In April 26, 1980, he married Gloria Palascak in Ohio. James served his country in the United States Army. James worked for Goodwill Industries, United Way of Genesee County, Whaley’s Children’s Center, Mott Community College and U of M Flint. James particularly enjoyed his teaching career. He also volunteered at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Surviving are wife, Gloria;
children, Emily and husband Sean Pratt, Adam and wife Janelle King, Annie and husband Jeff Kender and Elizabeth;
grandchildren, Breckin, Hudson and Lenore;
brothers, Peter, Michael, Paul and wife Toni;
sisters, Martha and husband Chuck Anderson and Maria and husband Jeff Swigert;
sisters-in-law, Joanne Bodnar and Carol Bodnar;
brother-in-law, Eddie and wife Helen Palascak;
many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Dorothy Palascak.
He was preceded in death by brother, William and father-in-law, Edward Palascak.
