Richard C. Hibbert, age 68, of Columbiaville died peacefully at home May 2, 2017.
Richard was born April 9, 1949 in Flint. The son of the late Carl and Gladys Hibbert. He later married Melody A. Emmett on March 9, 2002.
Richard graduated from Lakeville H.S. where he lettered in basketball and baseball. He also sang and played piano at church in his younger years.
One of Richard biggest joys in life was spending time with family and watching the grandchildren grow up over the years. He retired from GM after 48 years on May 1, 2016, and enjoyed working in the flower gardens with his wife. Richard was known for his 3 hour tours in the pond with the hag of the bog, and always pointed out Tommy the pet turtle that had been there for 19 years.
Richard is survived by his wife Melody, children: Colie Massey, Kyle Massey, son-in-law Chod Berry, grandchildren: Ray, Style, Isabella, Rhian, Brady, step mother: Margaret Hibbert, siblings: Carla Miller, Jan Witt, Laura Staudacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister in-law Sandy, nephew Shane, grandparents: Lee and Namomi Burgess, grandparents Harry and Augusta Hibbert, brothers of the heart Gerry, Dean, Jim “Snake”.
Funeral services Monday 3:00 PM at Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville, where friends may visit Noon until the time of service.
Mr. Jon Roberts officiating, and cremation will follow the services.
A heartfelt thanks to all who touched his life, especially Karen Jamison and Daniel Demorsky for all their love and support, without you we might not have found the strength to endure the past year.
