GOETTL, Egon W. – Of Grand Blanc, age 85, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2012.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc, Pastor Todd Biermann officiating.
Private burial in White Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made the Visually Impaired Center, 1422 West Court Street, Flint, MI 48503.
Visitation 1-3pm and 5-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Egon was born on March 12, 1927. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his wife of over 61 years, Rose (nee Dewald), his loving son Ed (Donna) and his devoted daughter, Caroline (Eric) Ethington, as well as the joy of his later life, his two grandsons, Jason and Jacob Ethington. He was a retiree of GM, having been a tool designer for Fisher Body for over 20 years. He will be delighted to be reunited in Heaven with his parents, Jakob and Karoline Goettl, and his sister, Karoline, who preceded him in death. His family is saddened by his passing but mindful that he had suffered enough and has finally been released of his earthly afflictions. He was a good man, a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family above all else and he will live on in their memories forever.
