SOPER, Marjorie Ann (Milkovich)LMSW – of Davison, MI, age 71, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-8 PM Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423 and 1-2 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the church. A Scripture Service will be held 6 PM Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Tay-Sachs and Allied Diseases Association, in Marjorie’s memory.
Marjorie was born in Detroit, MI on August 3, 1945, daughter of the late Paul and Marion (Jasinski) Milkovich. She married Kurt Soper in Detroit, MI on May 21, 1966. Marjorie earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan and was a self-employed Family Therapist. She was a Master Gardener, founder and president of the Davison Area Environmental Team, a leader in the development of the Davison Area Dog Park. Marjorie served on the Davison City Centennial Committee and various beautification projects in the Davison area. She won a Beautification Grant for the I-69/M-15 interchange. Marjorie loved flowers and animals of all kinds. She was known for her grace, kindness, mercy, generosity and love for all. Her motto was in love, peace and friendship.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kurt; 2 sons, Matthew and Michael; brother, Jon Milkovich; sister, Rosemary Kornacki; 2 special family members, Mariano and Carl Reyes; 2 special caregivers, Lori and Neel Heaberlin; many other loving family members and friends.
