PORTER, VELMA J. age 86, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the McLaren-Flint Hospital. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Reigle Funeral Home 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, MI. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M. Velma was born August 28, 1933 in Flint, MI to parents Lloyd and Pearl (Eddy) Giem. She married Kenneth Porter Aug 17, 1957. Velma was a member of Flint Church of Christ (Temple Lot). She attended the old Hoover High School and worked as the secretary of the school for 5 years and at General Motors Institute. Velma and her husband owned and operated Kens Green House from 1974 to 1995. Surviving are children Dawn Hyde, Adam (Sue) Porter, Daniel Porter, Mark (Kay) Porter; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by husband Kenneth Porter August 26, 2019, younger brother Dale Giem and her parents. Loved you then, loved you always. Always have, always will.
