STANLEY, LaVada M. – of Mt. Morris, MI, age 83, died Monday, May 16, 2011 in Missouri. Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Rev. Berniece Matecjek officiating. Burial will be at Thetford Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-9PM, Friday from 9AM to 9PM, and on Saturday from 11AM until time of services.
LaVada was born November 12, 1927 in Carlisle, IN to the late John and Calista (Gaines) Squires. She resided in the Clio and Mt. Morris area most of her life. She married Ernest Stanley on June 14, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2008. She was a member of Eagles Nest Baptist Church in Genesee.
Surviving are: 5 children, Roger (Sharon) Stanley of Millington, Gerald (YongCha) Stanley of Clio, Rita Stanley of Kalamazoo, Sharon (Dennis) Manwell of IL, Ruth (Michael) Patterson of NC; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters Lydia Bennett of IN, Gloria Puckett of NC; many nieces and nephews.
