JONES, Joseph Robert “Bud” - Of Lapeer County, age 74, died Monday, July 8, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Curtis Lilly officiating.
Entombment in Crestwood Cemetery. A Military Service will be held at Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 12-6pm Wednesday and 10am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Joseph was born in Bluff City, Tennessee on August 24, 1944, the son of Conley and Mary (Bowers) Jones. On December 23, 1966 he married Linda Carson in Watertown, New York. Joseph worked and retired from General Motors Metal Fab as a Joint Training Coordinator.
He was a member of New Covenant Free Will Baptist Church in Burton, Michigan as a Sunday School Teacher. He was also in the Bowling Hall of Fame.
Surviving are wife, Linda;
children, Joseph and wife Shannon Jones and Richard Jones;
grandchildren, Tiffany, Megan, Hanna and Jailyn;
brothers, Jimmy (Kathy) Jones, Bob (Sharon) Jones, Pete (Tina) Jones and Danny (Martha) Jones;
sister, Barbara (Rex) Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John W. Jones Sr., sisters, Virginia “Jinkie” Foulkner and Mary Ann Stewart and nephew, John W. Jones Jr.
