MIDDLETON, William K. “Bill” - Of Flint, age 97, died Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, followed by military honors.

Burial in Goodrich Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Visitation 12-3pm and 5-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
William was born in Peck, Michigan on November 1, 1922, the son of the late William and Charlotte (Williams) Middleton. Bill lived most of his life in Flint. On December 19,1943 he married Eleanor “Carolyn” Welch in Flint and she preceded him in death on June 10, 2017. Bill proudly served with the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of DAV Chapter #3, where he served as Commander. Bill was an entrepreneur his whole life. He started cleaning rugs, and one of his first accounts was The Durant Hotel. He then did excavating and also owned and operated Middleton Sand and Gravel Company for over 40 years. Bill had a love for animals and would always pick up a stray. He was active in local politics for many years. Bill and Carolyn loved to travel, including spending winters in Florida for over 30 years.
Surviving are children, Ron and wife Joanne Middleton of Grand Blanc, Chich and husband Rob Halsey of Burton.
grand-children, Kimberly (David) Kelly of Tampa, FL, Kelly (Jim) Johnson of Burton, Michelle (Greg) Parker of Lake Orion, Melissa (John) Duby of Lake Orion, Kristina (Tim) Tenniswood of Grand Blanc and Chip (Angela) Middleton of Grand Blanc;
and 12 great-grandchildren;
special friends, Willie and Sheila Mosley.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers.
