LANXTON, Curtis C. – of Flushing, age 72, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at McLaren of Flint. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12PM Monday, January 2, 2017 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 11AM until the time of service at 12PM. Memorial contributions may be made to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Ann Arbor.
Curtis was born July 21, 1944 in Flint, Michigan to the late Major and Imogene (Peavey) Lanxton. He married Valarie Valkoun on July 21, 1973. Curtis was a jack of all trades and owned many different businesses throughout his life. He had a passion for helping others, and would give the shirt off his back to help out a stranger. He was quite the jokester, enjoyed gardening, and had a passion for building.
Surviving are: Wife, Valarie Lanxton of Flushing; Children: Laurie (Kevin) Cruppenink of Onaway, Julie (Andrew) Schupbach of Fenton, and Curtis (Dawn) Lanxton of Swartz Creek; Special niece, Sundae (Joel) Peterson of Frankenmuth; Grandchildren: Derek, Danielle, Jacob, Josh, Alexa, and Hunter; Great grandchildren: Ellie, Sawyer, Evan, Brenden, Caden, and Abbi Lynn; Loving fur babies: Baby and Boomer; Brother, Major (Sandy) Lanxton; Sister, Barbara (Phil) Maggert; Sister in law, Denise Lanxton; Special friends: Mort and Karen Walker, Damon Huffman, and Paul Phillips; Many other loving family members and friends.
