Baier, Dorothy Elizabeth of Flushing, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 12, 2016. The funeral Mass will be at 11AM Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8PM Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10AM Wednesday at the church until the time of Mass. A rosary will be prayed at 7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church.
Dorothy was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 24, 1929, the daughter of Francis and Julia (DeVaughn) Bossle. She married Allan R. Baier in Flint, Michigan on May 14, 1949. Allan preceded her in death on August 25, 2012. Dorothy was a member of the St. Robert Altar Society. She made many close friends over the years working as a bookkeeper at St. Robert's parish office. Dorothy loved bowling, gardening, her dog Elmo, traveling to Florida, camping, and her card club friends. She made frequent trips to Baltimore, Maryland to visit with her brothers and sisters. Most importantly Dorothy loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her five children, Beverly (Karl) Edgeworth, Thomas (Marva) Baier, Stephen (Diane) Baier, Nancy (David) Kistler, Patricia (Bob) Hartwick; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Longardner, Kyle (Cristen) Edgeworth, Nicolette (Tim) Gagne, Lisa (Davey) Mika, Will, Morgan, Zachary; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Grant; four brothers; and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Allan; sister, Ginger; and brother, Walter. |
