WELLISLEY, Carl E. – of Flushing, age 79, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at McLaren of Flint. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Flushing Moose Lodge, 7044 N. Elms Rd. Flushing on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 6 pm. Visitation will be from 5 pm until time of services at 6 pm.
Carl was born on October 3, 1934 in Bentley Twp., MI to the late Arthur and Marie (Nitschke) Wellisley. He served in the National Guard. Carl married Martha Poole on February 7, 1953. Carl worked for GM Truck and Bus Assembly for 35 years retiring in 1987. He was a charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Flushing Lodge #1437 and a member of the UAW.
Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Martha; 4 children, Eugene (Mary) Wellisley of SC, Keith (June) Wellisley of Mt. Morris, Darlene Wellisley of IL, Gary (Melody) Wellisley of TN; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Phyllis) Wellisley of Millington; sister, Donna Kerr of Kawkawlin; nieces and nephews.
