BARKIEWICZ, Geraldine Louise - age 84, of Linden, died October 22, 2019. Graveside service will be held 10 AM Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery in Linden. Visitation will be held 11-2 and 4-8 Monday, October 28, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation. Geraldine was born January 29, 1935 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of Theron and Ethel (Roberts) Osborne. She married Eugene Barkiewicz on October 11, 1958 and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1982. Geraldine retired from Linden Community Schools where she was the Head Cook at Linden Elementary School for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking and cross-stitching. Surviving are: five children, Adam Barkiewicz of Linden, Barry (Deborah) Barkiewicz of Flint, Steven (Deborah) Barkiewicz of Swartz Creek, Gina (Craig) Pickett of Linden, and Therine Gatesman of Linden; three grandchildren, Trevor, Cory and James; five great-grandchildren, Corgen, Chloe, Nolan, Ryan, and Zoe; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; brother; two sisters; and grandson, Tonie Barkiewicz. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
