BABCOCK, Claude “Ed” Edsel – of Clio, age 81, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home. Elder Adam Prince officiating. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 4-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions can be made to the Clio Congregation of the Jehovah Witnesses.
Ed was born February 23, 1937 in Clio, Michigan to the late Claude and Marion (McClain) Babcock. He grew up in Clio and graduated from Clio high School with the class of 1956. On January 29, 1956 he married Margaret Travis. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and panning for gold. He was an avid Pistons fan, however his greatest joy in life was his family.
Surviving are: Wife of 61 years Margaret; Children, Julie Pope, Jennie Babcock, Jody Babcock, Jayna (Jeff) Wilkinson, Mark Babcock, Megan (Adam) Beldyga, Beth (Michael) Martel; 12 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great - Great Grandchildren; Sister, Betty Borden; Sister in law, Joanne (Frederick) Babcock. He was preceded in death by his parents and Brother, Fred Babcock; Nephews, Ted Borden, Freddie Babcock; Brother in law, Bernie Borden.
