TROYER, William R. “Bill” - Of Davison, formerly of Goodrich, age 83, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Fenton Healthcare.
Per Bills wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Monday, November 4, 2013 at Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 South State Road, Goodrich, 48438
Reverend Jeremy Africa officiating.
Memorial Visitation 2-6pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Monday until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Goodrich United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Goodrich Lions Club.
Private interment of cremains to be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Bill was born in Davisburg, MI on October 4, 1930, the son of the late Russell and Mary Troyer. Bill married Leah Prior on October 16, 1954 in Cambridge, England. He graduated from Goodrich High School, Class of 1949, where he excelled at all sports. Bill served in the United States Air Force, stationed in England during the Korean War. He attended Central Michigan University and was a member of their football team. He was a member of Goodrich United Methodist Church and the Goodrich Lions Club. Bill enjoyed playing golf, watching his grandchildren playing sports and spending time with his family. He retired from Wright & Company as a tool maker in 1993.
Surviving are loving wife, Leah;
daughter, Kim (Brad Backus) Munson of Davison;
son, Kevin (Amy) Troyer of Grand Blanc;
5 grandchildren, Brandon and Sean Munson, Maegan, Jacob and Noah Troyer;
2 great-grandchildren, Bryce and Joey Munson;
sister-in-law, Marian Troyer of CA;
brother-in-law, John Dumitru of Southfield;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
